For this collaborative event at Meuse Gallery, a cast of 3 dancers (Ariel Clarke, Katherine Lingle, and Anthony Pucci) will perform a new contemporary dance piece titled “In Awe (of the Everyday)” set to Peteris Vasks’s Castillo Interior for cello and violin and Nils Frahm’s Them for piano. Carmel Dance Festival commissioned Stanford Professor and Guggenheim Fellow Alex Ketley to choreograph this piece in January and to rework the piece so that it incorporates live painting by Simon Bull.
This free public performance will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 6th at Meuse Gallery located at 1331 Main Street, St. Helena, CA. The event is free of charge and open to the public. After the performance, attendees can enjoy Lang and Reed Napa Valley Wine, charcuterie, and mingling with the artist and the dancers.
